Metallurgical coke is made from low sulphur bituminous coal. Our production process involves baking the pre-washed coal in an oven for more than 22 hours with temperature exceeding 1,000 degree celsius to drive out the residue which includes smoke producing constituent. That produces metallurgical coke, our end product which is a fusion of fixed carbon and residual ash. The key characteristic of metallurgical coke is its low or no smoke with relatively stable burning temperature. Metallurgical coke is used as the critical raw material as reducing agent in smelting iron ore in order to produce pig iron. Therefore, metallurgical coke is a key ingredient for the steel manufacturing industry in China.
